Alta Video Rules Triggers for Alarm Management
Note: For any combined users, the existing Alta Video password is no longer used, and Alta Access password must always be used.
Single Password: User logins will be standardized to their Alta Access User name (email) and password; you may now log in to Alta Video using your Alta Access user name (email) and Alta Access password.
To use SSO/IDP this has to be configured within Alta Access.
Not all users will be synchronized from Alta Video to Alta Access. These users will not be able to use the App Switcher functionality.
Alta Video users without validated email addresses & without a corresponding user in Alta Access - If a user exists in Alta Access, we will combine their identity and their Alta Access password to be used everywhere. If they don't exist in Alta Access, then these users are not combined. To convert any of these users into a combined user, first, ensure their email address is set on Alta Video, then create a user within Alta Access with the same email address.
Username - Alta Video users who do not have an email address as their username will not be synced to Alta Access.
DMP users
Note: New users will be created as user databases between Alta Video and Alta Access are synced. For example, if a user exists in Alta Video but not Alta Access they will be created as a new user in Alta Access and given the role Dashboard Read-Only.
Alta Video Default Role: When you add a user to the Administrators group in Alta Video they will be created in Alta Access and put into the Alta Video Default Role. This role is created automatically. This role is minimal with only READ permissions for the Alta Access Activity Dashboard. This will generate an email to the user from Alta Access to set up their password. If the user needs more permissions in Alta Access, an Alta Access admin will need to grant them the permissions required.
Alta Access users added to Alta Video are added with the Operator User Group in Alta Video. If the Alta Video user needs more permission, an Alta Video Administrator must add the user to the desired User Group.
App Switcher: You can click the new 9-dot app switcher visible in both Alta Access and Alta Video to immediately open a new browser tab already logged into the other portal; no new sign-in is required.
