Installing the Video Intercom Reader Pro

We recommend more for the Video Intercom Reader Pro because Live streaming and Video Calls require more bandwidth since they can be used simultaneously.
Prerequisites
Create a Video Intercom Reader in Alta Access before installing and provisioning.
Installation
The Video Intercom Reader Pro can be installed:
On a narrow surface using the mullion mount, or
On a single-gang box using the standard mount.
Note: The recommended height for access control readers is 34 to 48 inches to center.
Installing on the Mullion Mount
Attach the Mounting Plate:
Use the provided screws (A) to secure the mounting plate (B) to the wall.
Install the Cradle Bracket:
Place the cradle bracket (C) onto the mounting plate.
Adjust to the desired angle, then secure it using the provided screws (D).
Wire and Provision:
Strip and connect the wires if necessary.
Provision the device.
Attach the Reader:
Snap the reader (E) into place.
Secure it with the security set screw (F).

Installing the Video Intercom Reader Pro on the Standard Mount
Prepare the Wall:
Install a recessed single-gang box into the wall.
Attach the Mounting Plate:
Use the provided screws (A) to secure the mounting plate (B) to the wall.
Install the Cradle Bracket:
Place the cradle bracket (C) onto the mounting plate.
Adjust to the desired angle, then secure it using the provided screws (D).
Wire and Provision:
Strip and connect the wires as needed.
Provision the device.
Attach the Reader:
Snap the reader (E) into place.
Secure it with the security set screw.

Wiring the Video Intercom Reader Pro
Note: The Pro series reader's power supply and the ACU's power supply must share a common ground.

Ethernet Connection:
Use the provided weatherproof coupling to connect the RJ-45 jack to an Ethernet cable or a PoE injector.
Note: We recommend using a backup battery on your PoE switch to maintain power during outages.
Optional Connections:
Third-Party Devices:
Use the Blue/White (NO) and Orange/White (COM) stripe wires to connect to devices such as a REX or sounder.
Legacy Access Control Systems:
Connect the Green (WD0) and White (WD1) wires to an input on the legacy panel.
NOTE: Relay not rated for locking hardware. To power locking hardware, use an Avigilon Smart Hub or third-party access control panel.
Provisioning the Video Intercom Reader Pro
Using the Open Access App to Provision the Video Intercom Reader Pro
Open the Access App:
Launch the Open Access app on your device.
Search for the Organization:
Search for your organization name within the app.
Press the Admin Button:
Press the Admin button located on the back of the Video Intercom Reader Pro.
Tip: A SIM card removal tool works well for this step.
Select the Device:
In the Access app, tap the serial number of the Video Intercom Reader Pro.
Provision the Device:
Tap Provision in the app and follow the on-screen instructions.

Log In:
For European users, go to https://control.eu.openpath.com/login.
Navigate to Devices:
In the dashboard, go to Devices > Video Intercom Readers.
Press the Admin Button:
Press the Admin button on the back of the Video Intercom Reader Pro.
Tip: A SIM card removal tool can help with this step.
Register the Device:
In Alta Access, click the Register button.
