Activate doorbell function for Video Intercom Reader Pro

The Button Press feature in the Rules Engine is now available to all customers. It allows them to trigger an external sounder when the button on the Video Intercom Reader Pro is pressed.

When the button is pressed, the Video Intercom Reader Pro can be configured to activate the onboard relay, which can trigger a doorbell chime to sound. This also initiates the routing profile logic when the button is pressed.

Relay Considerations

When wiring to trigger a doorbell chime, keep the following considerations in mind:

  • The Video Intercom Reader Pro relay is rated for up to 100mA, which is below the requirement of most doorbell chimes (around 1A).

  • Use a powered relay between the Video Intercom Reader Pro and the doorbell to support the necessary amperage for triggering the doorbell.

Wires:

Blue = NO

Orange = Common

Example Rule:

Note: Below, to trigger the ACU relay, you must use port 1, which is located on the Video Intercom Reader. The chime must be connected to the onboard relay of the Video Intercom Reader because rules cannot be configured to use remote ACU/expansion relays.
