Activate doorbell function for Video Intercom Reader Pro

The Button Press feature in the Rules Engine is now available to all customers, allowing them to trigger an external sounder when the button on the Video Intercom Reader Pro is pressed.

When the button is pressed, the Video Intercom Reader Pro can be configured to activate a relay, which can trigger a doorbell chime to sound. This also initiates the routing profile logic at the time of the button press.

Relay Considerations

When wiring to trigger a doorbell chime, keep the following considerations in mind:

  • The relay on the Video Intercom Reader Pro is rated for up to 100mA, which is below the requirement of most doorbell chimes (around 1A).

  • Use a powered relay between the Video Intercom Reader Pro and the doorbell to support the necessary amperage for triggering the doorbell.

Wires:

Blue = NO

Orange = Common

Note: Below for the ACU relay port number to trigger, you must use port 1. That is the port on the Video Intercom Reader.
