Use the Avigilon Alta access control system integration with Allegion Schlage® wireless locks and ENGAGE technology to configure and manage wireless locks without gateway hardware.
You can connect Allegion’s NDEB, LEB, and Control™ wireless locks to your Avigilon Alta system in No-Tour Mode by using the ENGAGE app and the Avigilon Alta Access app.

No-Tour mode features

Integrators can install the Allegion Schlage LE version B (LEB) and NDE version B (NDEB) wireless locks in offices and building amenities.

Integrators can install the Control smart locks in low to mid-rise residences.

Administrators and operators can provision locks and access rights for both Avigilon Alta and Schlage devices at their desks, without needing to visit (or tour) the devices in person.

Occupants can use key cards, fobs (see Note below), or mobile credentials to unlock entries and update their access rights.

Note: Only Schlage Cards or fobs purchased from Avigilon Alta can be used for No-Tour locks.
(Schlage cards/fobs not purchased from Avigilon are not supported.)

Avigilon Alta Mobile credentials will work also and are programmed just like regular Avigilon Alta Mobile credentials.

For Mobile Credentials to work, the no-tour lock needs to be toured with the Avigilon Alta Access app before a user can successfully use a mobile credential.

Prerequisites

Install the Schlage app from the App Marketplace and follow the steps to purchase Allegion licenses or contact Avigilon Alta Sales to set up a customer organization with the Allegion licenses. Connecting to a gateway is not required for the offline locks.

Engage App Set-Up

Note: If you already have an ENGAGE account and the app is installed, you can skip this step.

A. Sign in to http://control.openpath.com/login.

B. Go to Devices > Readers > Third-party

C. Click the Send Invite button. An Allegion ENGAGE invitation email is sent to your inbox. Accept the invitation, and the terms and conditions.

D. Sign in to the Allegion ENGAGE website using your ENGAGE account. To create an account, enter your information and click Submit.

E. Install and configure the Allegion ENGAGE app on your mobile device. Get the app from Google Play Store or the Apple Store.

F. Click Reload

Adding Schlage MT20W enrollment reader to the Allegion ENGAGE site and Control Center using the ENGAGE mobile app.

Note: If you plan to use Mobile Credentials ONLY, you do not need the Schlage enrollment reader.

Note: Only USB Communication mode is supported when provisioning the credential enrollment reader.

A. Power up your Schlage enrollment reader by plugging in the USB.

B. Use your ENGAGE app and follow the on-screen instructions to add the Schlage enrollment reader. The enrollment reader connects to the ENGAGE app over BLE.

1 - For Communication Mode select USB.

2 - For Host Configuration choose DNS and for server use ozone.prod.openpath.com and toggle Secured.

C. Follow the steps in the Engage Desktop App

Note: Allegion MT20 Enrollment Reader User Guide (Leaving Avigilon Alta site).

Adding Schlage Wireless locks to the Allegion ENGAGE site and Control Center using the ENGAGE mobile app.

Note: If during the commission process, something goes wrong, the device name will show as "Captured" in both the Control Center and the Engage app, causing syncing to stop. To fix this, delete the device named "Captured", and factory default the device. After factory defaulting, re-add and recommission the device.

Note: Do not associate the locks to a mobile gateway to make them No-Tour.

A. Use your ENGAGE app and follow the on-screen instructions to commission the MT20 Enrollment Reader and Schlage Wireless Locks.

B. Scan the config card (OP-CE-051-849) on the MT20 Enrollment Reader after commissioning the lock or enrollment reader in the ENGAGE App. This will update the reader config which is required for this integration.

B. Click Sync devices in the Control Center.

Create a No-tour zone in the Control Center and associate your No-Tour Entries to that zone.

A. Avigilon Alta recommends keeping your No-Tour locks in their own Zone.

Assign No-Tour mode locks to entries using Control Center.

Issue user Schlage card or fob credentials using the enrollment reader, and Control Center.

Note: A maximum of 11 entries across multiple zones in the same customer organization is supported for each Schlage card or fob credential commissioned to the Control Center (referred to also as the credential sector limit). The 11-entry limit does not apply to Openpath mobile credentials.

Be sure to have followed steps A, B, and C in Adding Schlage MT20W enrollment reader to the Allegion ENGAGE site and Control Center using the ENGAGE mobile app above before you proceed.

A. Scan the Schlage Card or fob on the Schlage enrollment reader.

B. Go to the User you assign the card or fob to and add the credential.

C. Add User Credential select Card: Schlage.

D. Select the Badge ID (printed on the card or fob) that you scanned from the drop-down. This will set it as a No-Tour badge.

E. Fill out the rest of the information if needed.

F. Click the Access tab and apply user or group access to determine what entries they will have access to.

G. Click Save.

H. Now hold the fob or card next to the enrollment reader, or place the fob or card on it and wait for 3 beeps and 3 green light flashes. Now the information has been written the fob or card.

Assign entries to users using Control Center.

Note: Avigilon Alta does NOT recommend using groups with No-Tour.

A. Go to the User and select Access to assign No-Tour entries to a user.

Creating an All-Access Credential (also known as a Master-Key)

To create an All-Access Credential, examples being for the Police or Fire Department, you would grant that card access to all the entries, then you would tour each lock with either the Open Admin app OR the card itself and present the app or card to each lock that it has access to, which would program that card to those locks.

Steps for creating an All-Access card

  1. Add a user (e.g. emergency user, fire/police, ...) with full access to all entries

  2. Give that user a Schlage credential

  3. When adding the credential make sure not to check the no-tour checkbox to "save" space on Schlage fobs

  4. Tour all the locks

If they need to need to change the credential (e.g. lost it or it was stolen)

  1. Delete the old credential

  2. Add a new one to that same user

  3. Re-tour all the locks
