Nedap uPASS Reach readers use UHF RFID technology and are often used for long-range vehicle identification in parking garages.

Setting up uPASS Reach reader in the Control Center

To configure Wiegand inputs on Core Series hardware:

  1. Go to https://control.openpath.com/login and log in. To access the European Control Center, please go to https://control.eu.openpath.com/login.

  2. Go to Devices > ACUs, then click on the ACU to edit it

  3. Click on the Ports tab

  4. Click Port next to the first input of the I/O pair with the uPASS Reach reader configured

  5. Select Wiegand Device from the Input Type dropdown, then click Save

This will label the subsequent input as Wiegand Device (Extended) and disable it from editing. Inputs cannot be changed if they are already assigned to an entry.

Once the Wiegand Device is configured on the ACU, it can be assigned to an entry.

To add a uPASS Reach reader to an entry:

  1. Go to https://control.openpath.com/login and log in. To access the European Control Center, please go to https://control.eu.openpath.com/login.

  2. Go to Sites > Entries and click on an existing entry to edit or click the plus(+) on the top right to Create an Entry

  3. Scroll down to Wiegand Device

  4. From the Port dropdown, select the port for the uPASS Reach reader to which this entry is wired

  5. From the Mode dropdown, select Input

  6. Click Save
