Note: For any combined users, the existing Aware password is no longer used, and the Control Center password must always be used.

Single Password: User logins will be standardized to their Control Center User name (email) and password; you may now log in to Aware using your Control Center user name (email) and Control Center password.

To use SSO/IDP this has to be configured within the Control Center.

Not all users will be synchronized from Aware to Control Center. These users will not be able to use the App Switcher functionality.

  • Aware users without validated email addresses & without a corresponding user in the Control Center - If a user exists in the Control Center, we will combine their identity and their Control Center password to be used everywhere. If they don't exist in Control Center, then these users are not combined. To convert any of these users into a combined user, first, ensure their email address is set on Aware, then create a user within the Control Center with the same email address.

  • Username - Aware users who do not have an email address as their username will not be synced to the Control Center.

  • DMP users

Note: New users will be created as user databases between Aware and Control Center are synced. For example, if a user exists in Aware but not Control Center they will be created as a new user in Control Center and given the role Dashboard Read-Only.

Aware Default Role: When you add a user to the Administrators group in Aware they will be created in the Control Center and put into the Aware Default Role. This role is created automatically. This role is minimal with only READ permissions for the Control Center Activity Dashboard. This will generate an email to the user from the Control Center to set up their password. If the user needs more permissions in the Control Center, a Control Center admin will need to grant them the permissions required.

Control Center Users added to Aware are added with the Operator User Group in Aware. If the Aware user needs more permission, an Aware Administrator must add the user to the desired User Group.

Note: The App Switcher and Content linking features will not work on an incognito browser page.

App Switcher: You can use the new app switcher visible in both Control Center and Aware to immediately open a new browser tab already logged into the other portal, no new sign-in is required.

  • Control Center App Switcher:

  • Alta Aware App Switcher:

Content linking: (Aware 6.2 or later) You can now use direct links on related pages to immediately open a new browser tab already logged in to the related page in your other app.

Note: An Operator role has limited permissions, clicking on the Content Links will take the user with that role to the home page. Some links will be hidden in the Control Center if the active user does not have permission in Aware to view the destination page

  • From Control Center to Aware:

    • Edit User -> Links to the user in either direction from Control Center <> Aware.

    • Entry Dashboard -> Opens Map view in Aware.

  • From Aware to Control Center:

    • Access logs in ACP sidebar -> Activity logs in Control Center

    • Alert info sidebar -> Activity logs in Control Center

    • Access event info sidebar -> Activity logs in Control Center

    • Map -> Activity logs in Control Center

    • Events / Alarms -> Activity logs in Control Center

    • System Alarms -> Device Dashboard in Control Center.

    • Devices access control -> Activity logs in Control Center.

Access event info sidebar -> Activity logs in Control Center

Devices access control -> Activity logs in Control Center.

Alta Aware video playback: If you have cameras connected through your Aware account you can now view and playback event clips in the Control Center by going to Cameras, Dashboard, Activity Report, or Visual Activity Report.

Aware Rules triggers for Alarm Management: Pick your Aware system security rules as trigger types in the Alarm Management configurations so you can use the Control Center, specifically the Alarms Dashboard, as a single place to monitor all your videos and access alarms.
