To activate your mobile credential, click the link included in the setup email. Having trouble activating your mobile credential? See the following:

I didn't receive an email or I need to request a new one

When your account is set up in Openpath, your administrator will send you a setup link via email. If you don't receive an email or if the link expires, you can request a new one from the Openpath mobile app.

To request a new setup email:

  1. Open the Openpath app on your device

  2. Tap Get started

  3. Tap Send Setup Email link

  4. Enter your email address to send

  5. Open your email on the mobile device where the Openpath app is installed

  6. Tap SET UP PHONE

Note: If you try this and still don't receive a setup email, see Openpath set up email not received

I use AOL/Outlook and the link won't open in the Openpath app

Sometimes the Openpath setup link won't work with email clients like AOL and Outlook. To get around this, you can try:

  1. Open the email and go to SET UP PHONE section

  2. Hold on to SET UP PHONE until a menu pops up to copy the link/url

  3. Copy the SET UP PHONE link

  4. If you're on an iPhone, open up Safari browser on your phone. If you're on an Android, open up Chrome browser your phone.

  5. Paste the SET UP PHONE link into the browser

  6. Following the instructions on the web page

  7. Forwarding the email to your phone via SMS as explained in I don't have email on my phone, how do I activate my Openpath mobile credential?

  8. If neither of these options work, you can set a password to log into the Openpath app

Android: The setup link isn't opening in the Openpath app

If using Android and the link opens in a browser and not the Openpath app, either the Openpath app isn't installed or your Chrome browser settings need to be adjusted:

  1. Open the Android Settings app

  2. Tap Apps

  3. Tap Chrome

  4. Tap Open by default

  5. Tap Clear defaults

  6. Return to your email and tap on the setup link again

  7. It should ask whether to open it with the Openpath app or Chrome. Select the Openpath app.

  8. This should log you in!

If this doesn't work or you'd rather log in with a password, see I'd rather use a password to log in to the Openpath app

iOS/iPhone: The setup link isn't opening in the Openpath app

If the Openpath app isn't opening when clicking on the link in your setup email, follow these steps:

  1. Ensure the Openpath app is installed on your mobile device

    • Double check you installed the correct app as there are other apps named similarly such as "OpenPaths" (if you're looking at a map, you're using the wrong app)

  2. Make sure you click the setup link in your email from your mobile device and not from your computer

If for any reason you're still not logged in, you can request a new setup email.

If you can't access email on your phone, see I don't have email on my phone, how do I activate my Openpath mobile credential?

If this doesn't work or you'd rather log in with a password, see I'd rather use a password to log in to the Openpath app

I'd rather use a password to log into the Openpath app

If you can't get the setup link to work, you can set a password on your account and use that to log in into the Openpath app.

To set up a password:

  1. Go to https://control.openpath.com

  2. Click Forgot Password

  3. Enter your email address which you received the Openpath setup email from

  4. Check your email for the Forgot Password email

  5. From that email, click the included link to set a password

  6. Once your browser opens you'll be able to set a password which will be associated with your email address

  7. Now, open the Openpath app on your mobile device and tap Use password instead

  8. Enter your email address and password

  9. You should now be logged in; now go open some doors!
