The Video Intercom Virtual Directory is an optional method for providing visitors with a graphical interface for searching and selecting who they will call from the intercom.
With the Virtual Directory enabled a business will be able to easily provide visitors a list of the available users or units using a QR code placed anywhere near the intercom. Visitors simply scan the QR code with their phones and are then given a temporary list of the available users for that intercom.
When the visitor initiates a call, using the mobile webpage, the intercom will then begin the call to that user or unit.
The available list of users is tied to the intercoms’ scheduled routing profiles, so any configured availability will be maintained between both the visitor directory and voice assistant methods of reaching users.
Note: To use this you will need to set up either Direct Connect profiles, Unit Connect profiles, or both.
Enabling the Intercom Virtual Directory
Note: You don’t have to enable this feature on every intercom.
Go to Devices > Video intercom readers.
Click to edit the intercom device to enable this feature on.
Click the Virtual Directory tab at the top of the page.
Toggle Enable Virtual Directory.
This will present you with a QR code, a download button, so you can print it out, a button to regenerate a new QR code if the old one gets destroyed, and the ability to preview what the visitor will see.
Below the QR code, optionally, you can give your directory a title, put in notes for the visitor, and select the values from the drop downs you want the visitor to see from the User directory and the Unit directory.
Once the Visitor scans the QR code they will be brought to the directory where they can choose to contact the User, the Unit, or the Front desk.
