A mantrap is an access control configuration that consists of interlocking doors, commonly used in banks, airports, and other high-security areas. In this setup, Door A must close before Door B can open, and Door B must close before Door A can open. To set up a mantrap configuration in Openpath, you'll need Lockdown and Rules Engine, which are available in the Premium and Enterprise packages.
First, configure two generic inputs:
Go to https://control.openpath.com/login and log in. To access the European Control Center, please go to https://control.eu.openpath.com/login
Go to Devices > ACUs
Click the ACU that contains Door A, then click the Ports tab
Select a Contact or REX input that is unused by an entry and change it to a Generic Input
Note: This input must physically connect to a contact sensor on Door A
Repeat these steps to create a Generic Input on the ACU that contains Door B (this may be the same ACU)
Second, create a Lockdown Plan:
Go to Sites > Lockdown Plans
Click Create Lockdown Plan
Select the Zone(s) to be used in the mantrap (Door A and Door B)
Set the Triggered State to Locked - no entry
Click Save
Lastly, create four rules:
Rule 1 - Door A in High State triggers Lockdown Plan associated with Door A and Door B
Rule 2 - Door A in Low State reverts Lockdown Plan associated with Door A and Door B
Rule 3 - Door B in High State triggers Lockdown Plan associated with Door A and Door B
Rule 4 - Door B in Low State reverts Lockdown Plan associated with Door A and Door B
To create Rule 1:
Go to Configurations > Rules
Click Create Rule
Enter a name and description for the rule
In the Trigger section:
From the Type dropdown select Input
From the Event dropdown, select Generic Input State Changed
In the Conditions section:
Click Add Condition
From the Type dropdown, select State Filter
In the State to Match dropdown select High
Click Add Condition again
From the Type dropdown, select ACU Port Filter
From the ACU To Match dropdown, select the ACU with Door A
From the ACU Port To Match dropdown, select Door A's Generic Input
In the Actions section:
From the Type dropdown select Lockdown
From the Lockdown Plan dropdown, select the plan you created for Door A and Door B
From the Lockdown Action dropdown, select Trigger Lockdown
Click Save
