Inputs
The Openpath 16 I/O Elevator board has 16 general purpose inputs. The general purpose inputs respond to voltages between 3V and 24V. The inputs will not respond directly to a switch or relay connection to ground. To use these inputs with a switch or relay, connect one side of the switch to the input and the other side of the switch to a supply voltage between 3V and 24V. If desired, you can add a 1k ohm resistor in series with the switch.
To wire a general purpose input:
If using an external power supply, connect the ground (-) of the external supply to the ground (-) of the ACU’s main power supply
Note: Openpath recommends that you use the “GND for INPUTS” on the I/O Elevator Board only if all input devices use the same voltage
Connect the Common “C” terminal of the input device to the power supply
Connect the Normally Open “NO” terminal of the input device to the desired input terminal of the elevator board
Repeat steps 2-3 for all input devices in use
Below is an example diagram showing two input configurations: the “Input Device” has an optional 1k ohm resistor wired in series, the “Switch” does not.
Outputs
The Openpath 16 I/O Elevator board has 16 relay outputs, which are typically used for elevator buttons. Interrupt one of the signal wires from each button and run through the C and NC contacts for the corresponding relay on the 16 I/O Elevator Board. See example below.
