How do I set granular permissions for user roles?

You can create specific, granular permissions for admins in Avigilon Alta Access.

To create a role with granular permissions:

  1. Go to https://control.openpath.com/login and log in. To access the European Alta Access, please go to https://control.eu.openpath.com/login.

  2. Go to Users > Roles and click the plus(+) sign to Create a Role.

  3. Enter a name and description for the role.

  4. Choose whether you'd like this role to have access to all sites or a specific site.

  5. Click the Read and Write sliders to create a custom role.

Note: To use Site-Based roles you will need either a Premium or Enterprise license.

Note: Device Dashboard is tied to the “Hardware” permission, not the Dashboard permissions.

Note: You cannot limit access to a specific Site’s Users - if you create a role that has access to Users, that role will have access to all Users within that org.
