How to provision ACUs with the Avigilon Alta Access app

Avigilon Alta Access is an app that lets you provision and troubleshoot Avigilon ACUs, Video Readers/Video Intercom Readers, and Single Door Controllers (SDC) using your mobile device. Provisioning the device means registering it in Avigilon Alta Access and getting it up and running with the latest firmware. You will need to re-provision in the case of resetting the ACU.

Attention: The Avigilon Alta Access app does not support SSO. It must be used with a local account.

Note: If you’re provisioning ACUs for a customer account, the customer org will need to be created prior to provisioning. See How to set up customer accounts

Requirements

To provision an ACU with the Avigilon Alta Access app

  1. Log into the Avigilon Alta Access app with your Alta Access/Parent org credentials and hit Continue.

2. If your user is associated with more than one Namespace, choose the Parent Org Namespace. Else you will be asked to log in (#3).

Note: If you are an integrator and use the same email and password for all accounts you will see all on the first page so select the integrator account.

3. Log into the Parent Org with your Password and 2FA (If Required).

4. Locate the org to which you’re provisioning hardware, either on the list or using search, then tap on the org name.

5. Press the ADMIN button on the Controller Board, Core Board, Video Reader Pro/Video Reader Intercom Pro, or SDC.

6. In the Avigilon Alta Access app, tap on the last four digits of the serial number for the device you are provisioning.

7. Tap Test Internet Connection and wait for a green YES to appear before proceeding with the next step. Note: This checks if the ACU/SDC can ping https://api.openpath.com/health.

8. Tap Provision Device.

9. Tap on the ACU Name that you want to provision to (this is the name of the ACU created in Alta Access), then tap Yes to proceed.

10. The app will send notifications when the ACU provision state changes from Unprovisioned to Provisioning in progress to Provisioning complete.

To change network settings

  1. Connect to the ACU by pressing the Admin button again if needed.

  2. Tap on Network Settings.

  3. Select Configure network manually.

  4. Configure the network settings as needed — set a static IP address or set a preferred DNS server

    1. To set up Wi-Fi on the SDC, see How do I set up Wi-Fi on the Single Door Controller?

5. Tap Save on the top right of the screen.
