There are two ways to install the Standard Keypad Reader; flush mounted on a single gang box or surface mounted using the provided backplate. The Mullion Keypad Reader can only be surface mounted. It is perfect when space is limited, such as a door frame.

Mounting Instructions

Standard Keypad Reader Installation - Flush Mount

  1. Install a recessed single gang box (D) into the wall.

  2. Strip and connect the wires.

  3. Use the #6-32 screws (B) to attach the reader (C) to the wall. Do not use the provided back plate for flush mount installations.

  4. Snap on the front cover (A). Do not use adhesive.

Standard Keypad Reader Installation - Surface Mount

  1. Attach the back plate to the wall.

    1. On drywall: use wall anchors and appropriate screws.

    2. On a UK single gang box: use four machine screws (not included).

    3. On a German single gang box: use two machine screws (not included) on the top and bottom holes.

  2. Strip and connect the wires.

  3. Use the #8-32 screws (B) to attach the reader (C) to the back plate.

  4. Snap on the front cover (A). Do not use adhesive.

Mullion Keypad Reader Installation

  1. Strip and connect the wires.

  2. If installing on a metal surface, drill and tap to use the provided machine screws (B). Or, use self-tapping screws.

  3. Attach the reader (G) to the wall.

  4. Snap on the front cover (F). Do not use adhesive.
